Discriminator Tap Modification Services

If you have some soldering skills and are confident drilling a hole in your scanner, you can do the tap yourself.  Full instructions and photos are provided on the CD that comes with the Super Data Slicer Package.  You can also buy the CD by itself.

I can add a discriminator tap to most scanners with the matching jack for the data slicers on this site.  If you require another type of jack please e-mail me.  The modification does not affect normal scanner operation in any way.

Turn around time is usually 1 to 3 business days.  I can provide references of previous customers if you would like to ask them how satisfied they were with my services.

I will test the tap and provide to you the PIN and MODE variable settings for use with Trunker.exe which will save you some setup time (and frustration).

Discriminator Tap prices:
With purchase of Super Data Slicer Package  -  $27
With purchase of Super Data Slicer or regular Data Slicer -  $35
Without Data Slicer Purchase $45

You pay shipping both directions for your scanner.  Insurance is recommended, but it's your choice.  You can deduct the shipping charge for the data slicer order if you would like the data slicer shipped with your modified scanner.

Shipping Procedure

1. Box up you scanner and determine what the exact shipping charges are to zip code 84043.
                                            Shipping Costs
2. Once you know the exact shipping charges (including insurance, delivery confirmation or whatever you require), either include a check in the box for the return shipping plus the modification cost, OR use Paypal to send me the amount.  If you would like to send a money order separately, I will wait for the money order to arrive before doing the modification on your scanner.  If you want to send a personal check, I will wait for 10 days for the check to clear before doing the modification.
3. What to include - You do not need to include the antenna or power supply.  If it is a base or mobile scanner, they generally run off 12v and are easy to power.  If it is a handheld scanner that does not use standard AA batteries, please include the a charged battery pack so I can power it up to test the tap.  If you are not sure what to include, e-mail me.
4. Send me an e-mail to let me know you are shipping your scanner and what type of scanner it is.
